Merveilleux!

My new Deer and Doe pattern arrives in the mail, from France!

Is it a bit silly to get excited by air mail these days? Many more amazing things on a daily basis. But there is something special, to me, about this package arriving in the mail. Every detail from the paper envelope to the french postal stamps to return address in Portet sur Garonne, France. It's just wonderful.

Deer and Doe patterns are printed on regular paper which is new for me. So far, I've only used patterns from the typical, large pattern producers and those are all on tissue paper. So, do I cut the paper pattern pieces out? Trace them onto tissue paper? Luckily, I had just discovered an inexpensive source for a roll of tissue paper, so I decide to use the tracing method. This will also allow me to use the other sizes included on the patterns if I ever want to.

This is a project I've been looking forward to starting and this lovely, French, independently made pattern makes it merveilleux indeed!
